My Roommates Made a Bet is a five-episode series on Candy Shorts, the short-form video section of CandyAI. The hook is the kind of too-good-to-be-true offer everyone has scrolled past: a broke everyman answers a suspiciously cheap room ad and moves in with two bombshell roommates who, unknown to him, have a private wager running on which of them gets him into bed first. He thinks he has lucked into affordable rent. They think they have a new game. The official synopsis adds that not all is as it seems, and the series plays that line for all it is worth, letting the viewer in on the bet while the new tenant slowly works out why his housemates are quite so attentive.

How to Watch My Roommates Made a Bet: Free and Premium Episodes

The split between free and premium follows the Candy Shorts norm. The first two episodes are free with a CandyAI account, and they cover the ad, the move-in and the roommates’ first competitive overtures toward their new flatmate. Episodes three to five are premium, and they follow the bet as it heats up and the hints that something else is going on begin to accumulate. The free stretch is enough to meet all three housemates and gauge the comedy of the setup before upgrading.

Instalments are short, a couple of minutes each, and the flat gives the series a single, contained setting with a kitchen, a corridor and a couple of bedrooms to move between. Each episode lands on one skirmish in the roommates’ contest and ends on a beat that keeps the wager alive. The five parts work best in order, since the bet is a running score, but the premise is simple enough that any episode stands up alone.

The Cast of My Roommates Made a Bet

The series is a three-hander. The everyman is the viewer’s stand-in, a man with no money, no suspicion and a growing sense that his living situation is unusually good. The two roommates are the engine of the plot: rivals as much as friends, each confident she will win, each adjusting her tactics as the other gains ground. The series draws them as distinct personalities rather than interchangeable foils, and keeps all three consistent across the run so that the shifting score of the bet is easy to track. The hint that not everything is as it seems gives the roommates an extra layer, since the viewer is never completely sure what the real game is.

How My Roommates Made a Bet Is Made

My Roommates Made a Bet was never filmed in a real flat. As with every title on Candy Shorts, the footage comes from CandyAI’s generation pipeline, with the three recurring characters kept consistent across all five episodes so that the roommates who place the bet in the first instalment are the same two women pressing their advantage in the last. The finish is smooth and stylised, nearer to animation than to live-action, and a shared-flat setting suits the format’s preference for one location and a small cast. Anyone who knows AI video only as isolated clips should expect a different thing here: a serialised comedy of errors with a cast that carries over.

Where to Stream My Roommates Made a Bet

Getting started takes a free CandyAI account, which unlocks the first two episodes on the spot. The CandyAI apps for iOS and Android are the easiest way to watch two-minute instalments, and premium membership opens episodes three to five along with the rest of the gated catalogue.

My Roommates Made a Bet is adult content and restricted to viewers aged eighteen and over, as is everything on Candy Shorts. Within those terms it is one of the lighter entries in the lineup: a cheap room, a secret wager, a tenant who does not know he is the prize, and five short episodes with a twist waiting at the end.
