Among the many news outlets covering the adult entertainment and porn industries, AVN is among the largest and most well-known. Everything from the latest headlines to information on the law can be found here. Founded in the early eighties as a trade magazine, AVN has grown into a full online platform that calls itself the voice of the adult entertainment industry, and it is the first place professionals and fans look when something happens in porn.

The site is built around news. Entertainment covers new releases, studio deals, performer signings and scene announcements; Legal tracks age-verification laws, court cases and regulation around the world; Technology follows payment processors, platforms and the AI wave hitting the business; GayVN has its own dedicated coverage. Beyond headlines, AVN maintains a directory of performers, movie and product reviews, galleries from industry events and trending star profiles. The brand also runs the events the industry talks about all year: the AVN Awards in Las Vegas every January, the AVN Expo that lets fans meet stars in person, the Adult Novelty Expo for toys and the GayVN Awards. A newsletter delivers the daily digest, and the archive goes back decades. Stars and studios use AVN to announce retirements, signings and releases, so the news feed doubles as a who’s-who of the business. Video interviews and red carpet galleries from the awards add a glossy, fan-friendly layer to the trade coverage.

Quality is professional journalism, not blog gossip: articles are bylined, sourced and updated, which is why AVN ends up quoted by mainstream press. Nearly everything is free to read; revenue comes from advertising, event sponsorship and optional digital subscriptions to AVN Magazine and its camming publication. The newsletter is free too, and the site works cleanly on mobile without pop-ups. There is no explicit video hosting here, so the site is safe to browse almost anywhere, and no registration is required for the news. We list AVN among the best porn forums because its comment sections, awards voting and event coverage make it the closest thing the industry has to a public square, even if it is not a classic message board.

Verdict: AVN is essential reading if you care about who is making porn, what is legal and what is coming next, and the awards coverage alone is a yearly treat for fans. It will not get you off, but it will tell you where to look. For fans it is also the easiest way to discover new performers before they blow up. Bookmark it, follow the news through our link and check the award nominees before everyone else does.
